Hot Cocoa from Hell

This particularly evil cocoa recipe is one I use only on special occasions. Melt 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips over low heat, stirring often. When smooth, add 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved, then bring mixture to a gentle boil. Whisk in 2 cups cream and 5 1/2 cups milk, stirring until completely incorporated, and then let cocoa heat thoroughly over medium-low flame (about 10 minutes). When cocoa is hot, add 1 teaspoon vanilla, and whisk again. Serve in big mugs with homemade whipped cream (to make it an extra-big sin).

Cinnamon Toast

In oven broiler, lightly toast slices of good white bread (not Wonder or Weber's in this case... I like thick buttermilk bread or a home-style white) on both sides (about 5 minutes per side). Spread toast with butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Return to broiler, and broil until sugar is melted and bubbly.
